Meet the Outback crew

The staff who lead Outback crews through Colorado’s biggest days, on the rock, on the river, and up the trail to the 14,115-foot summit of Pikes Peak. They camp with the crew all week, so your Scouts always know who to ask.

Pardon our sawdust! We're building the 2027 Outback crew right now.

We’ll add staff here as they sign on. Check back for updates.

Safety on the big days

Staff make the call on the trail, based on the weather and the whole group’s safety. If storms are building, the group can’t keep a safe pace, or someone shows signs of altitude sickness, they turn around.

Every trip runs with an emergency action plan. When conditions call for it, turning back is the right call.
