It depends on when they drop. Either way, refunds and credits go to your unit, not to individual families, so your unit settles up with the family.

  • Swap in someone else: You can replace that Scout with another camper from your unit at no charge, any time before your session starts. The new camper’s registration and health forms have to be complete before they arrive. This is usually the best option.
  • Before April 22, 2027: The payments made for that Scout stay with your unit and count toward your remaining balance. There’s no cash refund. If that leaves your unit overpaid, the extra becomes a credit for other costs at camp, like merit badge or evening activity fees. Ask to use it when the cost comes up, since it isn’t applied automatically. Any credit left at the end of your session is non-refundable.
  • After April 22, 2027: Refunds are considered only for a new medical condition, illness or injury that began after registration, a parent’s military deployment, or a death in the family, with documentation. Known and pre-existing conditions, including food allergies, don’t qualify. Each approved refund covers only the base registration fee (merit badge, rafting and other program fees aren’t refundable) and is reduced by a $100 cancellation fee per camper. Your unit can take it as a credit toward a future Camp Alexander session instead.
  • How to ask: The unit leader submits the refund request form on the Pathway to the Rockies Council website. It has to be received by August 23, 2027.
