Draft: may still change
The word geocache combines “geo,” meaning earth, and “cache,” meaning a hiding place. Geocaching is finding a hiding place on planet Earth using a GPS unit, an electronic tool that shows where you are based on information from satellites in space.

Getting ready
Do at home
Requirements 7, 8, 9. These can't be done at camp. The Scout finishes them with a merit badge counselor in your council, before or after camp. Camp records everything the Scout completes here.
Read the Geocaching merit badge requirements on scouting.org.
Signing up
Your unit leader registers each Scout for classes in MyCouncil when your week's registration opens in late April. Classes fill up, so list a second and third choice for each session.
