Getting ready
Do at home
Requirement 5b. This can't be done at camp. The Scout finishes it with a merit badge counselor in your council, before or after camp. Camp records everything the Scout completes here.
Read the Exploration merit badge requirements and the Signs, Signals, and Codes merit badge requirements on scouting.org.
About the badges
Exploration
Scouts discover the history and importance of exploration, study real explorers who made their mark in the wild or in a lab, then plan, prepare for, and go on an expedition of their own.
Signs, Signals, and Codes
Scouts explore the ways people send messages without speaking, from Morse code and semaphore flags to trail signs and American Sign Language.
Signing up
Your unit leader registers each Scout for classes in MyCouncil when your week's registration opens in late April. Classes fill up, so list a second and third choice for each session.
