About the badges
Leatherwork
Scouts explore leather’s history and its endless uses. They make a useful leather item using the same kinds of raw materials our ancestors used, practice skills like hand-stitching, lacing, and braiding, and learn how to preserve and protect leather so it lasts a lifetime.
Woodcarving
As with any art, wood carving involves learning the basics of design, along with choosing materials, tools, and techniques, and wood-carving safety. The requirements introduce Scouts to an enjoyable hobby that can become a lifetime activity.
Signing up
Your unit leader registers each Scout for classes in MyCouncil when your week's registration opens in late April. Classes fill up, so list a second and third choice for each session.
